Keen Ice overtook Triple Crown-winner American Pharoah late and won the Travers Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday.

Trainer Bob Baffert said in a television interview after the race that American Pharoah's future schedule would be determined later. But Ahmed Zayat, American Pharoah's owner, said after the race that his “gut feeling” is to retire the horse. American Pharoah, which won horse racing's first Triple Crown since 1978 in June, was the 2-to-5 favorite heading into the race and finished second.

Keen Ice completed the race in just over two minutes, finishing strong to take the win from American Pharoah.

Frosted finished third after running alongside Pharoah for most of the race.

American Pharoah won the Haskell Invitational earlier this month.

Keen Ice lost to Pharoah in the Haskell and the Kentucky Derby. The Travers was just the second career win for Keen Ice.
