Kim Ng, Major League Baseball’s senior vice president for baseball operations, is among the Philadelphia Phillies’ top choices for general manager, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Ng, a former assistant general manager and vice president for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, will reportedly interview with the Phillies in the near future. Heyman also reports that Indians executive Ross Atkins and former Marlins general manager Larry Beinfest are also in the mix for the job with Philadelphia.

Ng, 46, has previously interviewed with the Dodgers, Angels, Mariners and twice with the Padres for their respective general manager positions, but lost the job each time to a male counterpart. She is seeking to become the first female general manager in the history of American professional sports.

A former college softball player at the University of Chicago, Ng is currently the highest-ranking Asian American woman in Major League Baseball.
