Oakland A’s pitcher Sonny Gray has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right trapezius, the team announced Sunday.

The injury is not considered serious and Gray said that he expects to be back after the 15 days.

“Hopefully when these 15 days are up, you never look back from there,” Gray said via the San Jose Mercury News.

Gray has struggled leading up to the injury, registering four losses and a no decision in his last five starts and posting a 10.38 ERA over that stretch. On the season, he is 3–5 with a 6.19 ERA in nine starts.

Gray was an All-Star in 2015, finishing the season 14–7, including two shutouts, with a 2.86 ERA.

The A’s have recalled pitcher Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A Nashville.
