Olympic gold medalist and retired softball pitcher Jennie Finch will be the guest manager of the independent Bridgeport Bluefish on Sunday, the team announced.

Although Finch’s stint with the Bluefish will last just one day, she will become the first woman to manage a professional baseball team.

“We are really excited to have Jennie come out and manage the team,” Bluefish general manager Jamie Toole said in a statement. “She is an incredible athlete and a wonderful person, and we hope our fans will enjoy seeing her in a Bluefish uniform for the day.”

During her illustrious playing career, Finch led the University of Arizona to the 2001 national title and won a gold and silver medal with Team USA.
