The Kansas City Royals have reached out to other teams about trading pitcher Yordano Ventura, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

The news comes as Ventura has struggled on the field, going 4–4 with a 5.32 ERA in 12 starts this season. However, reports are that Ventura’s immaturity and attitude issues are the catalyst for the trade talks.

Ventura has been involved in a number of on-field altercations over the last two seasons as a result of him throwing at opposing batters.

On Tuesday, he started a bench-clearing brawl with the Baltimore Orioles after hitting Manny Machado with a 99-mph fastball.

Ventura is currently signed to a three-year, $21.25 million contract with two $12 million team options.

He has posted winning records in each of his first two seasons with the Royals, finishing 2015 with a 13–8 record and 4.08 ERA.

Kansas City (30–28) is currently second in the AL Central standings, 2.5 games back of the Cleveland Indians.
