Nationals GM: Stephen Strasburg unlikely to pitch in NLDS
Nationals GM Mike Rizzo says Stephen Strasburg is unlikely to pitch in the NLDS.
Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo told reporters that it is unlikely Stephen Strasburg will pitch in the National League Division Series.
Strasburg suffered a strained flexor mass in his right elbow on Sept. 7 and has not pitched in a game since. An MRI did not show any ligament damage.
He played catch at Turner Field on Sept. 17.
Strasburg has a 15–4 record and 3.60 ERA on the year.

The Nationals have also lost catcher Wilson Ramos for the postseason, as he sustained a torn ACL that will require surgery.
Game 1 of the NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers will be held on Oct. 7.
