Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo sprained his right MCL during a scrimmage last Friday night, the team announced.

The Magic have not given a timetable for his return. Oladipo, the No. 2 pick in the 2013 draft, averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds as a rookie last season and was a member of the USA Basketball Select Team this summer.

In an interview with the team's website, Oladipo said the injury happened when he landed after a play at the rim and that he originally thought he injured his ankle until he woke up with knee pain the next morning. He said he is taking his recovery day-by-day and was encouraged that he was able to continue playing after the injury.

Oladipo is the second Magic player to sprain an MCL during training camp. Channing Frye, who signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the team this offseason, sprained his left MCL last Thursday in a collision with Ben Gordon.

Orlando finished 23-59 last season. This offseason, the Magic traded leading scorer Arron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets, used the No. 4 pick in the draft on Aaron Gordon and traded for No. 10 pick Elfrid Payton. Orlando has eight new players on the roster overall.

Center Nikola Vucevic is the team's only player on SI.com's list of the Top 100 players for 2014-15.
