Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings is out six to nine months with an Achilles tear, according to the Detroit News and corresponding tweets from Jennings.

Jennings suffered the injury with 1:20 left in the third quarter of Saturday night's 101-86 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Jennings planted awkwardly while trying to defend Bucks guard Brandon Knight and immediately went to the ground in vocal and obvious pain. He was eventually wheeled off the court.

Jennings, Detroit's leading scorer, averaged 15.4 points and 6.6 assists per game.

On Sunday, Jennings also tweeted about his frustration with being sidelined, writing, "Not being able to play basketball is the worst thing." The Pistons (17-27) were 11.5 games behind the first place Chicago Bulls entering play Sunday.
