Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver will have surgery on his injured ankle Wednesday, he told TNT's David Aldridge

The Hawks announced on Saturday that Korver will miss the rest of the playoffs after being diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain. Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday that Korver would seek a second doctor's opinion.

Korver's teammate DeMarre Carroll said Sunday that Korver has “got to have surgery, out 4 to 6 months.”

The Hawks lost the first game they played after Korver's injury and trail the Cleveland Cavaliers 3–0 in the Eastern Conference finals. Kent Bazemore replaced Korver in the starting lineup.

Korver was selected to his first All-Star game this season in his 12th year in the league. He averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season while shooting a league-best 49.2% from three-point range.
