The Indiana Pacers have agreed in principle to a three-year deal with free agent center Al Jefferson, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical confirmed the news.

Jefferson, 31, averaged 12 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season. Known for his low post scoring ability, Jefferson holds career averages of 16.7 points and 6.4 rebounds over 12 NBA seasons.

The veteran big man is the latest in a series of Pacers off-season moves that have netted them point guard Jeff Teague and forward Thaddeus Young. New head coach Nate McMillan will inherit a more experienced unit than Indiana fielded last season.

The Pacers went 45–37 and finished in seventh place in the Eastern Conference before losing in the first round to the Raptors.
