The National Basketball Association's 71st season kicks off in grand style with a tripleheader on Tuesday night.

In the first game, the Cleveland Cavaliers begin defense on their improbable NBA title as they receive their rings and raise the banner before they take on the New York Knicks at home.

That is followed by two up and coming Western Conference teams, the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trailblazers.

The nightcap features the Golden State Warriors, with new addition Kevin Durant, facing the San Antonio Spurs sans Tim Duncan.
