NBA broadcaster Craig Sager will be part of this year’s class of inductees into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

The Hall announced its latest class, which also includes Verne Lundquist, Tim McCarver and Robin Roberts, among others.

“Sager’s presence has become synonymous with big-time NBA basketball (not to mention with unique style),” the Hall’s announcement reads. “As a sideline reporter for the NBA on TNT for nearly two decades, he has earned the respect of players, coaches, and viewers. He previously hosted Atlanta Hawks telecasts for TBS Superstation and was a reporter on TNT’s NFL pregame, halftime, and postgame from 1990 to ’97.”

Sager, known for his eclectic and eccentric fashion sense and professionalism on the sidelines, continues to battle leukemia.

The Hall’s induction will take place Tuesday, Dec. 13 in New York.

SI’s Lee Jenkins profiled Sager at length earlier this year.
