One day after being indicted on charges of child injury, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson tweeted a photo pointing to a biblical passage about passing judgment on others.

The picture includes such highlighted sentences as "But I created you first and foremost to know Me  and to live in rich communication with Me. When you become preoccupied with passing judgment, you usurp my role."

The charges against Peterson stem from an incident where he allegedly hit his four-year-old son with a tree branch. The doctor who treated Peterson's son told investigators that the boy had "a number of lacerations on his thighs, along with bruise-like marks on his lower back and buttocks and cuts on his hand."

The Vikings deactivated Peterson prior to Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. Peterson is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and has led the NFL in rushing yards twice.
