Nuggets guard Randy Foye out three weeks with quad tear

Denver Nuggets reserve guard Randy Foye said that he will miss at least three weeks because of a right quad tear, The Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports.

Foye had an MRI on Monday that revealed the injury. He did play in the team's last game, a 101-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. He played 11 minutes and missed all four of his field goal attempts and both of his free throws.

Foye is averaging 8.4 points on 37.5 percent shooting, with two assists and 1.4 rebounds in eight games this season.

The 31-year-old is in his second season with the Nuggets. He has also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz in his eight NBA seasons since being the No. 6 pick in the 2006 draft.

The Nuggets have rebounded from a 2-7 start to win their last four games, including wins over the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans.

    Denver hosts the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
