The Buffalo Bills have signed former Indianapolis Colts running back Daniel “Boom” Herron, the team announced Tuesday.

The move comes in an attempt to compensate for injuries to running backs LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams.

McCoy has been battling hamstring issues and is expected to be out for 3–4 more weeks. Williams sustained a concussion in the Bills’ 24–10 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. His status for Buffalo’s next game against the Tennessee Titans is uncertain.

The Bills worked out a handful of running backs on Tuesday, includingTrent Richardson, but ultimately went with Herron.

Herron, who was released by the Colts last month, has 389 rushing yards on 87 attempts over 25 games in his NFL career.
