Patriots receiver Danny Amendola was denied a punt return touchdown against the Giants Sunday when he was tripped by a teammate.

Patriots receiver Danny Amendola was denied a punt return touchdown against the Giants Sunday when he was tripped by a teammate with nothing but open space ahead of him. 

Amendola fielded Brad Wing’s kick at his own 11 and cut across the field while avoiding tacklers. By the time he got to the 35-yard-line, he had no one left to beat. Amendola attempted to cut back to the middle of the field, where he got his feet tangled with Duron Harmon.

Amendola was ruled down at the 7, but the Patriots scored a touchdown four plays later to cut their deficit to three points.
