Sunday November 15th, 2015

Philadelphia Eagles running back Ryan Mathews suffered a concussion during the team’s game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the Eagles announced

Mathews sustained the injury during the third quarter and was ruled out after being evaluated. He had struggled before leaving the game with the injury, carrying the ball eight times for 18 yards. He also grabbed three passes for 22 yards.

Mathews has played well this season, rushing for 409 yards and four touchdowns on 67 carries.

Running back Darren Sproles will likely step up to backup starter DeMarco Murray if Mathews is out for an extended period of time. Sproles had tallied 143 rushing and one touchdown this season, to go along with 165 receiving yards.

The Dolphins ended up winning the game 20–19.
