Watch: Texans WR Cecil Shorts throws 21-yard touchdown pass

Houston Texans wide receiver Cecil Shorts threw a touchdown pass against the Jets.

The Houston Texans may have a new contender for the quarterback position.

Wide receiver Cecil Shorts showed off his arm Sunday, throwing a 21-yard touchdown pass to running back Alfred Blue. Shorts caught what originally looked like a screen pass, then turned and fired the ball across the field to Blue for a score. 

Shorts did it all for the Texans on that drive, catching passes of 16 and 35 yards before throwing a touchdown for himself. 

The score gave Houston a 17–10 lead.
