Chargers running back Melvin Gordon left Sunday’s game against the Dolphins with a knee injury and will not return, the team announced.
Gordon was injured on a one-yard run in the second quarter and was able to walk off the field under his own power.
Gordon, a rookie first-round pick from Wisconsin, is San Diego’s primary running back. He entered the game with 169 carries on the season, compared to 74 for Danny Woodhead and 31 for Branden Oliver.

Gordon has played in all 14 of the Chargers’ games this season, with 641 rushing yards and no touchdowns.
