Philadelphia Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley interviewed for the team’s vacant head coaching position on Friday, the team announced.

Staley has spent the past six seasons on the Eagles’ coaching staff, and helped develop LeSean McCoy and revitalize Darren Sproles in his three years coaching backs.

A third-round pick of the Eagles in 1997, Staley spent the first seven years of his career in Philadelphia, rushing for 4,807 yards and 10 touchdowns. He finished his career with three seasons in Pittsburgh before retiring as a member of the Eagles in 2007.
