The Cincinnati Bengals have officially ruled out quarterback Andy Dalton for the team’s playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday.

Dalton sustained a fractured right thumb during the Bengals’ Week 14 loss to the Steelers. Dalton had the cast removed from his hand earlier this week.

AJ McCarron made his first career start in Cincinnati’s 24–14 win over the 49ers in Dalton’s absence in Week 15. McCarron has also started in the team’s last two games, earning a record of 2–1. The quarterback has thrown 854 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions this season.
