The Arizona Cardinals have signed former Australian Rules player Joel Wilkinson, the team announced on Tuesday.

In July, Wilkinson, 24, retired from  Australian Rules to pursue a career in the NFL. At 6’0”, 190-pounds, Wilkinson could potentially play cornerback for Arizona. He had a pair of tryouts with the team before being signed.

Wilkinson is not the first Australian Rules to attempt to join the NFL. Ben Graham was another former Australian Rules player to join the NFL and has punted with the New York Jets, the New Orleans Saints, and Cardinals.

Arizona also signed veteran safety Chris Clemons.
