Free agent quarterback Charlie Whitehurst will sign with the Cleveland Browns, his agency tweeted on Monday night.
Whitehurst, 34, has played on four different teams in the past four years. He will help provide depth behind third-round pick Cody Kessler, who has been thrust into the starting role in Cleveland after injuries to Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown.
This will be the 26th different quarterback for the Browns since the 1999 season.
Whitehurst holds a 55% completion percentage for his career with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
