Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland and defenseman Danny DeKeyser will meet again this week to discuss a new contract, Bob Duff of The Windsor Star reports.

DeKeyser is a restricted free agent. In July, George Sipple of The Detroit Free Press reported that the two sides were not close to a new deal.

The 24-year-old scored four goals and 19 assists in 65 games last season, which was his first full season in the NHL.

In March 2013, the Red Wings signed free agent DeKeyser to a two-year deal. The defenseman played at Western Michigan University for three years.

DeKeyser led all Red Wings defensemen with a 10 plus/minus rating, which ranked him fourth overall on the team. DeKeyser also finished second on the Red Wings with 116 blocked shots, which placed him third among NHL rookies.
