Phelps is coming off a successful trip at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as he won five gold medals and one silver medal. He has repeatedly said that he has no plans to make a comeback for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo as he focuses on his family at home.

He will serve as an assistant coach to Bob Bowman at Arizona State University.
