Javier Mascherano says he tore his anus during win over Netherlands

Javier Mascherano's likely game-saving tackle of Arjen Robben near the end of regulation in Wednesday's World Cup semifinal between the Netherlands and Argentina appears to have come with a cost.
Mascherano, who bumped heads with Holland's Georginio Wijnaldum earlier in the game, told reporters that he tore his anus while making the desperation tackle.
More from Yahoo Sports, via Toda Pasion:
"I tore the anus.... I don't want to sound crude... Robben game me an opportunity when he took a touch; he lost a second and I won. What I did anyone could have done. To be in the final you need a bit of luck."
