Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic says the Blues can win the quadruple -- four trophies -- this season, something that has never been done by an English club.

The club currently leads the Premier League by three points heading into Boxing Day. Chelsea is through to the round of 16 in the Champions League and the semifinals of the Capital One Cup. The Blues will also begin their FA Cup campaign in January.

"I think it's possible," Matic said, according to the BBC. "We have a chance."

In 2012, Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.

Matic, 26, said he has confidence that his team has the capability to win the quadruple, though he acknowledged it would be a tall task.

"I don't want to say that we're going to but we're going to try," Matic said. "We have quality. I am confident, I believe in my team, my teammates, so everything is possible."

Previously, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho downplayed the possibility of winning the quadruple.

Matic, a Serbian international, joined Chelsea in January 2014 from Benfica.
