New York Red Bulls forward Mike Grella scored the fastest goal in MLS history in game against the Philadelphia Union.

During the opening moments of the match, Grella intercepted a poor backwards pass by Cristian Maidana. With a wide open field and just one defender in his way, Grella quickly dribbled the ball up field and beat Union’s goalkeeper Andre Blake with a left-footed shot.

The goal was scored in just seven seconds, making it the fastest goal ever in MLS history.

Previously the fastest goal in MLS history was from Tim Cahill, who scored a goal in eight seconds when he was with the Red Bulls in 2013.

The Red Bulls finished the match defeating the Union 4–1.
