Alex Morgan scored late in the first half to tie the United States with Germany in the SheBelieves Cup.

Nearing the midway point of the match, Morgan took a lobbed ball in the box, touched it with her left around a defender, and volleyed with the right for an impressive, high-difficulty finish. Germany’s Anja Mittag scored in the 30th minute for a 1–0 lead, and Morgan’s goal tied it 1–1.

Samantha Mewis scored just minutes later for the 2–1 lead, taking the ball with room at the center of the pitch and driving a left-footed strike into the bottom-left corner.

The score would hold as the USWNT defeated Germany 2–1. With the victory, the United States won the title in the inaugural tournament.
