Johan Cruyff's passing on Thursday has caused many to commemorate and remember the Dutch soccer icon, and someone with personal ties to Cruyff does that for us on a special edition of the Planet Futbol Podcast.

Thomas Rongen, a former U.S. Soccer coach and teammate and roommate of Cruyff when both played in the NASL, joins SI's Grant Wahl to take a trip down memory lane and pay homage to his friend. Rongen, who grew up in the Netherlands while Cruyff burst onto the scene before becoming a peer, shares a number of personal stories and memories while also describing how much of an impact he had on the game of soccer.
