Podcast: USMNT rebounds, USA U-23s falter in Olympic playoff

The U.S. senior and U-23 men's national teams are the focus of the latest Planet Fútbol Podcast.

The U.S. men's national team avoided the disaster scenario it was facing entering Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Guatemala, but the U.S. U-23s failed when it mattered most, and both developments are the focus of the new Planet Fútbol Podcast. 

SI's Grant Wahl, Brian Straus and Liviu Bird were each present at one of the U.S. games during the international break, and each has stories to share from his experience. Whether it was the horrible showing in a 2-0 loss at Guatemala that the U.S. in its perilous position; the 4-0 rebound victory in Columbus, where morale was restored; or the U-23s' 2-1 loss to Colombia in Texas that kept the U.S. from reaching the Olympics for the third time in four cycles, we cover it all. 

There's also the matter of Saturday's Clasico in Barcelona. Even though the league stakes are not as high as in past years, we get ready for the world's most star-studded, preeminent rivalry match between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
