Colombia will meet Peru in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Copa America Centenario on Friday. The match will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Colombia will try to bounce back from a 3–2 loss to Costa Rica in its final match of group play. The team, led by Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, started off the tournament with wins over the U.S. and Paraguay.

Peru picked up its first win over Brazil in 30 years to advance to the knockout stages. Raul Ruidiaz scored on a controversial handball goal in the 1–0 win. Peru finished third in the 2015 Copa America, losing to Argentina in the semifinals.
