Report: Blues trade Matt D'Agostini to Devils

[Update 12:42 EDT] The Blues report receiving a conditional 4th or 5th round pick from the Devils in exchange for Matt D'Agostini and a conditional 7th round pick.

The St. Louis Blues have traded Matt D'Agostini to the New Jersey Devils, according to Andy Strickland of truehockey.com.

D'Agostini, 26, joined the Blues in a 2010 trade with the Montreal Canadiens for Aaron Palushaj. He scored 21 goals and 25 assists in 82 games his first season, but his production decreased to nine goals and nine assists in 55 games in 2011-12.

In February, coach Ken Hitchcock returned D'Agostini to the Blues' lineup after he played in just four games in the season's first month.

The move of D'Agostini could coincide with the Blues opening up a roster spot for the anticipated return of T.J. Oshie from a rib injury on Saturday.
