Buffalo Wild Wings will not sponsor a bowl game played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona, after negotiations between the bowl and company ended, the Arizona Republic reports.

This is the second Phoenix-area bowl that will need sponsorship for the upcoming season, after Tostitos announced last week that it will not sponsor the Fiesta Bowl, ending an 18-year partnership. The Fiesta Bowl is played at University of Phoenix Stadium in nearby Glendale.

The bowl is legally known as the Valley of the Sun Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl executive director Mike Nealy said he hopes for a long-term sponsorship deal.

"It's not ideal that we don't have a sponsor right now, but I look at it as an opportunity," Nealy said.

The game in previous years was known as the Insight Bowl and before that the Copper Bowl. For the previous seven seasons, the game featured teams from the Big Ten and the Big 12.

Starting next season, it will feature a Pac-12/Big-10 matchup. In last season's game, Kansas State routed Michigan 31-14.
