ACC Prediction, Odds for 2026 College Football Season (Miami is Set as Odds-On Favorite)

The Miami Hurricanes came as close as they could have to winning the National Championship last year, losing to the Indiana Hoosiers in the season finale.

Despite being the highest nationally ranked team in the country, the Hurricanes failed to make the ACC Championship Game after losing out to a tiebreaker to Duke, with five different teams ending the year with a 6-2 conference record. The Blue Devils would go on to defeat Virginia by a score of 27-20 in overtime to capture their first college football conference title in school history.

Despite winning the conference, Duke was not given a berth in the College Football Playoff, as two Group of Five teams, Tulane, and James Madison, were ranked higher. As a result, the Hurricanes were the sole ACC representative in the CFB Playoff, despite not making the conference championship game.

The good news for Hurricanes fans is that, barring a disaster, Miami should make an appearance in this year's conference finale. They're set as heavy odds-on favorites to win the ACC and make another run at the National Championship.

2026 ACC Prediction

Miami enters the 2026 college football season as the -155 favorite to win the ACC, which is an implied probability of 60.78%. I'm not going to be the guy to claim that any other team is going to win this conference. It's clear that it goes through Miami, as the Hurricanes are the only serious team left in what is a down era for the conference, which has become a step below the Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC. The Hurricanes have one of the best defenses in the country, and as long as they don't have a couple of hiccups in the regular season like they did last year, the path is clear for them in the College Football Playoff.

If you're dead set on betting on a different team winning this conference, the school I would point to is Louisville at +800. The Cardinals have some real talent on offense, including Isaac Brown at running back, who averaged a blistering 8.8 yards per carry last season. He will be one of the best playmakers to watch in the entire country, let alone the ACC, and he alone could drag this Cardinals team to the ACC Championship Game.

With that being said, a running back isn't enough to take down a team like Miami. I'll back the Hurricanes to cruise to a win in the ACC Championship Game.
