It may be April Fool’s Day, but I’m not fooling around with some long ball picks when it comes to today’s MLB slate.

Every day, the SI Betting team shares our favorite home run props, a fun way to get in on the Major League Baseball action and potentially net a major payout.

A loaded slate of afternoon baseball games (13 to be exact) gives us a ton of options when it comes to the home run market, and I happen to have three AL East players that I’m buying on Wednesday.

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson recently hit his first homer of the season, and he’s one of several players that has some intriguing history against the starter they’re facing on Wednesday.

Plus, I think Wednesday’s action could help Boston youngster Roman Anthony break out of an early slump this season.

Let’s take a look at the latest odds and analysis for these home runs props on April 1.

Gunnar Henderson to Hit a Home Run (+424)

Gunnar Henderson hit his first homer of the season in the series opener against the Texas Rangers, and now he takes on righty Nathan Eovaldi on Wednesday, who is coming off a rough 2026 debut.

Eovaldi allowed eight hits, five runs and two homers in his first start this season, and he’s been prone to the long ball before, allowing 23 in 29 appearances back in 2024. Last season, Eovaldi made just 22 starts and allowed just 10 homers, but history suggests that this is a favorable matchup for the Orioles shortstop.

Henderson is hitting .714 (5-for-7) with a double off of Eovaldi in his career. The O’s star has just six hits in five games, but two of those have gone for extra bases. I think he’s worth a look at this price against a pitcher he’s thrived against in his young career.

George Springer to Hit a Home Run (+330)

Toronto Blue Jays veteran George Springer has already homered twice in the 2026 season, and he takes on a weak Colorado Rockies pitching staff on Wednesday afternoon.

Springer has fared well against today’s starter – Kyle Freeland – in his career, going 3-for-6. Freeland has allowed at least 22 homers in each of the last three seasons, though he did not give one up in his season debut against Miami.

The Rockies’ bullpen has been shaky this season, allowing four homers in five games, and Springer is coming off one of the best power seasons of his career, hitting 32 homers in 140 games. He’s a great target on Wednesday, especially since the Jays have scored 10 runs in two games so far this series.

Roman Anthony to Hit a Home Run (+416)

Boston Red Sox youngster Roman Anthony is off to a slow start in the 2026 season, hitting just .190 with 11 strikeouts in 21 at bats. However, he could get back on track against the Houston Astros on Wednesday afternoon.

Houston has righty Mike Burrows on the mound, and he was touched up in his 2026 debut, allowing nine hits, five runs and two homers across 5.2 innings of work.

Anthony hit just eight homers last season, but he’s hitting over .275 against right-handed pitching in his career. This is more of a long shot play, but I like fading Burrows and the Houston pitching staff since the Astros’ bullpen has allowed six homers already this season.
