In this story:

Today's game between the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers is going to be must-watch television. Not only is it a game between two of the best teams in the National League, but it's also a matchup between the top two Cy Young candidates.

Jacob Misiorowski enters the game as the -800 favorite to win the NL Cy Young, but if anyone can catch him, it's Chris Sale, who's second on the odds list at +750.

Let's dive into the odds and my best bets for this marquee matchup.

Braves vs. Brewers Odds, Run Line, and Total

Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook

Run line

  • Braves +1.5 (-196)
  • Braves -1.5 (+162)

Moneyline

  • Braves +126
  • Brewers -138

Total

  • OVER 6 (-105)
  • UNDER 6 (-115)

Braves vs. Brewers Probable Pitchers

  • Atlanta: Chris Sale, LHP (12-8, 2.16 ERA)
  • Milwaukee: Jacob Misiorowski (12-5, 1.75 ERA)

Braves vs. Brewers How to Watch

  • Date: Friday, August 21
  • Time: 4:10 p.m. ET
  • Venue: American Family Field
  • How to Watch (TV): Brewers.TV Presented by Potawatomi Sportsbook, BravesVision
  • Braves record: 75-53
  • Brewers record: 79-49

Braves vs. Brewers Best MLB Prop Bet

  • Chris Sale OVER 7.5 Strikeouts (-115)

The Brewers have struggled with striking out on when facing left-handed pitchers over the past month. In that time frame, they have a strikeout rate of 29.2% when facing left-handed pitchers, which is the second-highest strikeout rate in the Majors in that time frame. If that continues today, Sale could soar over his strikeout total of 7.5. He has reached 8+ strikeouts in four straight starts.

Braves vs. Brewers Prediction and Best Bet

I think the odds should be closer to a coin flip for this game, so I'm going to back the Braves as road underdogs in this National Leauge powerhouse showdown.

It's rare to see a total for a game as low as six, but it's not surprising given the caliber of the two pitchers on the mound. With that being said, a low-total can lead to plenty of variance with one or two plays being the difference-maker.

The Brewers have struggled against lefties at times this season, ranking 21st in the Majors in wRC+ when facing left-handed pitchers. That's bad news for them now that they have to face the best lefty in baseball.

Pick: Braves +126 via FanDuel
