In this story:

The Carolina Panthers had a completely average 2025 season, but an 8-9 record was enough to win the NFC South despite going 1-3 in their final four games. The highlights of the year were beating the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13 and then taking the Rams down to the wire in the Wild Card round, losing by a score of 34-31.

There were questions surrounding Bryce Young heading into the season, but he did enough to hold on to the starting gig for the start of the 2026 season. Can they win the division for a second straight year? Let's dive into their projected win total for the upcoming campaign.

2026 Carolina Panthers Projected Win Total

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

  • OVER 7.5 Wins (+115)
  • UNDER 7.5 Wins (-136)

The Panthers have a projected win total of 7.5, with the UNDER juiced to -136. That means they have an implied probability of 57.63% that they'll go 7-10 or worse this year.

In my NFL season betting preview article, 32 Bets for 32 Teams, I made the case for betting the UNDER on their win total:

The Carolina Panthers had the worst DVOA and the worst Net Yards per Play amongst all playoff teams, and the downside of them winning the NFC South is that Bryce Young has bought himself more time as their quarterback. While I like the management and coaching staff of this team, I can't take them seriously until they move on from Young and get a serious player at that position. End-of-season hype has inflated their numbers in the futures market for this season. I'm willing to bet on regression happening in Carolina.

Pick: UNDER 7.5 Wins (-136) via DraftKings
