The Seattle Mariners return home to face off against the Chicago Cubs in a three-game set starting on Friday night.

The Mariners went 4-5 on their road trip, losing two of three against the Yankees and Brewers with a series win in Houston in between.

The Cubs are on the road after a 3-3 homestand, but they did just take two of three from the White Sox.

Here are the odds, probable pitchers, and predictions for Cubs vs. Mariners on Friday, Aug. 21.

Cubs vs. Mariners Odds, Run Line and Total

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

Run Line

  • Cubs -1.5 (+156)
  • Mariners +1.5 (-189)

Moneyline

  • Cubs -102
  • Mariners -105

Total

  • 8 (Over -108/Under -112)

Cubs vs. Mariners Probable Pitchers

  • Cubs: Matthew Boyd (8-2, 4.02 ERA)
  • Mariners: Emerson Hancock (7-7, 3.30 ERA)

Matthew Boyd fell victim to Joshua Baez and the Cardinals last time out, allowing seven runs on five hits (four home runs) in 5.1 innings. He’s now allowed 14 runs (13 earned) in 19 innings across his last three starts.

Emerson Hancock has been solid all season long for Seattle and had one of his best starts of the year last time out. He allowed just two hits and five runs in seven innings against the Astros in his last start.

Cubs vs. Mariners How to Watch

  • Date: Friday, Aug. 21
  • Time: 10:10 p.m. ET
  • Venue: T-Mobile Park
  • How to Watch (TV): MARQ, SEAM
  • Cubs record: 74-54
  • Mariners record: 60-68

Cubs vs. Mariners Best MLB Prop Bets

Cubs Best MLB Prop Bet

  • Matthew Boyd OVER 17.5 Outs (-152)

I don’t see another short outing for Boyd tonight against this Mariners team.

The southpaw completed at least six innings in seven straight starts before his last outing, pitching 46 frames in those outings. He should be able to get back on track given Seattle’s offense on the other side.

Cubs vs. Mariners Prediction and Pick

I trust Boyd a bit more than Hancock, and I trust the Cubs a lot more than the Mariners.

Chicago has had no problem on the road this season at 36-27, and while Seattle is better at home, a 33-29 record at T-Mobile Park doesn’t scare me off.

The Cubs are the better team and I’ll happily take them as underdogs tonight.

Pick: Cubs -102
