Fire vs. Tempo Prediction, Odds, Best WNBA Prop Bet for Friday, Aug. 21

The league’s two new teams are heading in opposite directions ahead of their matchup on Friday night in Vancouver.
The Portland Fire are, well, on fire, winning two in a row and four of their last five games. The lone loss was a four-point defeat to Minnesota as +12.5 underdogs.
The Toronto Tempo have also done well recently to cover the spread as big underdogs, but that’s the best thing you can say about a 12-game losing streak.
The Fire beat the Tempo 99-80 in Toronto in May, and 97-83 at home earlier this month.
Let’s take a look at the odds, a player prop, and my prediction for Friday’s WNBA matchup.

Fire vs. Tempo Best WNBA Prop Bets
Fire Best WNBA Prop Bet
- Bridget Carleton OVER 20.5 Points + Rebounds (-108)
Bridget Carleton was on a hot streak before being held to nine points and five rebounds in Phoenix earlier this week. After a few days off, she has a meeting against one of the worst teams in the league right now.
Carleton had 10 points and 11 rebounds against Toronto earlier this month, and should be in for another productive game tonight.
Fire vs. Tempo Prediction and Pick
I’m keeping it simple and taking the Fire tonight in Toronto – er, Vancouver.
Portland has picked up upset wins on the road to start this trip, and now is a rare road favorite. The Fire won’t flame out tonight.
Pick: Fire -2.5 (-108)
