Breaking down the best prop bets for the Dallas Mavericks-Sacramento Kings matchup in the league's play-in tournament.

Can Anthony Davis keep the Dallas Mavericks’ season alive?

Dallas is the No. 10 seed and needs to win two play-in tournament games to make the playoffs heading into Wednesday’s No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup with the Sacramento Kings. The Kings did nearly everything they could to squander the No. 9 seed, but they ended up clinching it on the final day of the regular season.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks’ nightmare season had one silver lining: the return of Davis and Dereck Lively II.

Now, Dallas is hoping that it can at least make the playoffs after getting destroyed for trading away Luka Doncic during the regular season.

I’m eyeing a bunch of player props in this game, including one for Davis since he’s shown a little extra playmaking prowess since coming back from his adductor strain.

Let’s break down these prop picks for this Western Conference clash.

Best NBA Prop Bets for Mavericks vs. Kings

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • PJ Washington OVER 5.5 Rebounds (-135)
  • DeMar DeRozan OVER 5.5 Assists (+105)
  • Anthony Davis OVER 4.5 Assists (+114)

PJ Washington OVER 5.5 Rebounds (-135)

PJ Washington is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game in the 2024-25 season, but those numbers have taken a little bit of a hit with Lively II, Davis, and Daniel Gafford returning.

Still, if Dallas wants to win this game, Washington is going to have to play a lot of minutes on Wednesday night.

He’s still cleared 5.5 boards in three of his last six games. This prop could be set at 6.5, so I’m betting the number more than anything when it comes to Washington on Wednesday.

DeMar DeRozan OVER 5.5 Assists (+105)

With Malik Monk banged up, DeMar DeRozan has been one of the primary playmakers for the Kings this season, and he’s thrived in the role. In 14 games without Monk, DeRozan is averaging 5.6 assists per game.

He finished March and April averaging 5.8 assists per game over a 24-game stretch.

Dallas is just 18th in the NBA in opponent assists per game, and I expect the Kings to rely heavily on DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Domantas Sabonis in this game. DeRozan has plenty of play-in/playoff experience, and he’s picked up at least six dimes in 50 percent of his games since March 1.

Anthony Davis OVER 4.5 Assists (+114)

This is not the prop you’d expect for Davis, but it could have some serious value.

The Mavericks star is averaging 4.7 assists per game over his last six games, clearing this line on four occasions.

If the Kings try to force the ball out of Davis’ hands – and they may, since the Mavs have way fewer options on offense for Dallas without Irving – I wouldn’t be shocked to see the All-Star big man become a willing passer.

AD finished with 10 dimes in his last appearance, and Sacramento gave up 27.0 assists per game to opponents during the regular season.
