New York Giants Win Total Projection for 2026 Season (Can John Harbaugh Turn This Franchise Around?)

In this story:
The New York Giants have been spinning their tires for the past 15 years, having made the playoffs just twice since winning the Super Bowl at the end of the 2011 season. The team moved from from Brian Daboll this past season, and then brought in John Harbaugh, the former Baltimore Ravens coach, to lead this team into the next era.
There are plenty of things for Giants' fans to be optimistic about heading into this season, and now the betting market has faith the team will take a significant step forward in 2026.
Let's dive into their projected win total for the upcoming season.
2026 New York Giants Projected Win Total
Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
- OVER 7.5 Wins (-110)
- UNDER 7.5 Wins (-110)
DraftKings has the Giants' win total set at 7.5 for the upcoming season, with both the OVER and UNDER at even odds at -110. The Giants have reached 8+ wins since 2022, when they went 9-7-1, which was good enough for a berth in the playoffs.
Harbaugh's last season in Baltimore didn't go as planned, but he instantly became one of the most winningest available coaching hires in recent history. He has a win percentage of .614 at 180-113, including winning Super Bowl XLVII at the end of the 2012 season. He may not turn this team around in a single year, but he knows how to shift a culture in a building.
The Giants also have a handful of young pieces to build their roster around. Malik Nabers should return healthy as their No. 1 option at wide receiver, Jaxson Dart showed flashes of brilliance in his rookie year at quarterback, and Cam Skattebo is an exciting option at running back.
New York's defense is where they need to find some answers. They traded Dexter Lawrence in the offseason, but will need Arvell Reese and Abdul Carter to step up and play significant roles as young players on the defensive front.
The Giants' secondary is going to be extremely suspect, so defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson will have to find ways to use his scheme to give them a chance to defend against the pass.
In my NFL season betting preview, I broke down why I'm betting the OVER on their win total:
I'm cautiously optimistic about the Giants this year. I don't think they'll be able to grab a playoff spot, but eight or nine wins is certainly in reach. They made the head coach hiring of the offseason, bringing in John Harbaugh, who has been one of the best coaches in the league over the past two decades. He should make an immediate impact on not only this team, but the franchise as a whole.
Grabbing Arvell Reese at No. 5 in the draft and Francis Mauigoa at No. 10 is going to prove pivotal in 2026, grabbing two high-end pieces at important positions. Malik Nabers coming back healthy is also going to do wonders for this offense.
If a few things bounce their way, they could make some noise in the NFC East.
Pick: OVER 7.5 Wins (-110) via DraftKings
