Carson Whisenhunt is looking to bounce back from allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits in four innings against the Guardians. He had a solid start before that, yielding just one run on four hits in 4.2 innings against the Astros.

Chase Burns is one of the best young strikeout pitchers in the league, and he’ll show why tonight in San Francisco. Burns racked up eight punchouts in each of his last two starts and now has at least seven strikeouts in 16 of 24 starts this season.

I don’t see the Giants being able to buck that trend tonight.

Reds vs. Giants Prediction and Pick

The Reds are in a better spot heading into tonight’s game. They were at least just in Arizona, so it’s not a long trip to San Francisco, and they took it knowing that their ace would be on the bump tonight.

On the flip side, the Giants had to come all the way back from Boston having put up 12 runs in their last four games.

I’ll take the Reds to get back on track with a win tonight.
