Rockies: Ryan Feltner (4-6, 5.71 ERA)
Diamondbacks: Merrill Kelly (8-9, 4.88 ERA)

Ryan Feltner came out of the All-Star break with a poor start, allowing eight runs in 2.1 innings against the Reds. He’s been better since then, allowing 12 runs in 16.1 innings in his last three starts.

Merrill Kelly bounced back nicely with 5.2 one-run innings against the Dodgers last time out before leaving the game due to a hamstring cramp. He threw a complete game in his lone start against the Rockies this season, allowing one run (a home run) on four hits in a 9-1 Arizona win.

Kelly had that stellar start against the Rockies back in May, and he’s been fairly consistent as of late as well.

The right-hander has allowed a total of 12 earned runs in 38.1 innings across his last seven starts, with five of those runs coming in one outing. He’s gone UNDER 2.5 earned runs in six of those seven starts, and I think he’ll continue that today against the Rockies.

This should be a relatively easy win for the Diamondbacks to close out their homestand.

Kelly is better than Feltner, and Arizona has been more offensively inclined as of late.

The Diamondbacks won three of four against the Rockies at home in May, and I think they’ll only have the one loss again in this series.
