Timberwolves vs. Lakers Game 5 NBA Prop Bets (Picks for Luka Doncic, Jaden McDaniels)

In this story:
The Los Angeles Lakers-Minnesota Timberwolves series isn’t short on star players, but it’s been role players like Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo that have made a massive difference for Minnesota and helped propel it to a 3-1 series lead.
While Anthony Edwards (43 points in Game 4) and Julius Randle are also playing at a high level, the Wolves have had much more trust in their bench than the Lakers, who did not make a sub in the second half of their Game 4 loss in Minnesota.
With this series shifting back to Los Angeles, there are a ton of ways to bet on what could be a closeout game for the Wolves. However, I’m interested in betting on some player props, especially if the Lakers play a shorter rotation again.
Here are a few prop bets that I’m eyeing for this Game 5 matchup on Wednesday night.
Best NBA Prop Bets for Timberwolves vs. Lakers Game 5
Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.
- Jaden McDaniels OVER 13.5 Points (-125)
- Luka Doncic OVER 3.5 3-Pointers Made (-115)
Jaden McDaniels OVER 13.5 Points (-125)
Minnesota’s X-Factor in this series has been McDaniels, who has scored 25, eight, 30 and 16 points through four games.
The Wolves have played their 3-and-D wing a ton, as he’s averaging over 35 minutes per game in the series. McDaniels has also played a pretty big role offensively, taking at least 11 shots in every game.
Even though he isn’t known for his scoring McDaniels should see a ton of good looks with the Lakers doubling Edwards at times and having to pick and choose which shooters they are willing to leave when the Wolves play their small-ball lineup.
Plus, the lack of rim protection for L.A. has made it easy on McDaniels and the rest of the Wolves when attacking the basket. At this number, McDaniels is worth a look in Game 5.
Luka Doncic OVER 3.5 3-Pointers Made (-115)
Lakers superstar Luka Doncic is attempting a ton of shots from beyond the arc in this series, hitting 14 of his 38 attempts (36.8 percent).
Doncic has taken at least eight shots from beyond the arc in every game, and in even more minutes than usual in Game 4, he attempted 12 3-pointers.
The usage will always be there for Doncic, and he’s struggled a bit at times getting free to the basket against the Wolves’ lengthy wings. If he’s willing to settle for another double-digit attempt game from beyond the arc, I’ll trust the Lakers star to make four or more 3s.
Doncic has two games where he’s knocked down five shots from deep in this series.
