The Minnesota Twins are looking to get back on track as they close out their road trip with a three-game set against the Athletics starting on Monday night.

After sweeping the Braves to finish their homestand, the Twins were on the other end of the brooms in San Diego over the weekend.

The A’s recently lost five in a row, but recovered with wins in their last two games in Houston this weekend.

The Twins took two of three from the A’s in Minnesota last month.

Here are the odds, probable pitchers, and predictions for Twins vs. Athletics on Monday, Aug. 24.

Twins vs. Athletics Probable Pitchers

  • Twins: Zebby Matthews (7-8, 5.12 ERA)
  • Athletics: Jeffrey Springs (3-11, 6.02 ERA)

Zebby Matthews is looking to build on allowing just one run on five hits in 5.2 innings against the Braves last time out. He’s allowed a total of 16 runs (13 earned) in 26.2 innings (4.39) in his last five starts, starting with six innings of two-run ball against the A’s on July 24.

Jeffrey Springs returned from the injured list with 5.2 innings of two-run ball against the Royals last time out, in a game that the A’s bullpen let get out of hand. He recorded just four outs in Minnesota last month, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits.

Twins vs. Athletics Best MLB Prop Bets

Athletics Best MLB Prop Bet

  • Lawrence Butler OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120)

Lawrence Butler is getting a chance to bat cleanup due to injuries throughout the A’s lineup. He’s done well so far, going 5 for 11 out of the four spot in three games over the last week.

Overall, Butler is 16 for 48 (.333) with seven runs scored and eight RBI in his last 13 games.

Twins vs. Athletics Prediction and Pick

I was initially looking at the OVER in this game, but Matthews’ recent success has given me confidence to take Minnesota.

The Twins are clearly the better team, and it’s not as if the A’s have been able to take advantage of Sutter Health Park, going 23-40 at home this season.

I’ll back the Twins to win by margin tonight.

Pick: Twins -1.5 (-102)
