Walk-Off Wagers: MLB Best Bets Today (Predictions for Rockies-Nationals, Guardians-Angels, Phillies-Mariners)

In this story:
The final full week of August kicks off with a 10-game slate in the MLB on Monday night.
I’m looking at a low-scoring game in Washington and a pair of road squads for my MLB best bets tonight.
Let’s get right into the MLB best bets – and their odds at the best betting sites – for Monday, Aug. 24.
MLB Best Bets for Monday, Aug. 24
Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
- Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals UNDER 8 (-107)
- Cleveland Guardians (-158) at Los Angeles Angels
- Philadelphia Phillies (-108) at Seattle Mariners
Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals UNDER 8 (-107)
Both of these teams have been going downhill for a bit now. The Rockies have lost six straight games, scoring just 21 runs on their winless homestand. The Nats weren’t much better on their road trip, going 1-8 with a total of 20 runs scored.
Ryan Feltner allowed seven runs in five innings last time out, but that was at Coors Field against the Rockies. He was more serviceable in his previous starts, allowing five runs in 10.1 innings.
Cade Cavalli has been a huge bright spot for the Nationals this season and recently. He’s thrown 14 shutout innings with 21 strikeouts, three walks, and four hits allowed in his last two starts.
I don’t see either of these offenses breaking out tonight in Washington.
Cleveland Guardians (-158) at Los Angeles Angels
The Guardians are on the upswing with four straight wins and a 6-2 record in their last eight games. And while the Angels have been better as of late, with alternating wins and losses, they face a tough test against this hot Cleveland team.
Parker Messick has been terrific for the Guardians this season, including 6.2 innings of two-run ball against the Angels back in May. George Klassen has been solid for the Angels as of late as well, but I need to see more than three starts before I believe it, and Los Angeles’ bullpen struggles behind him.
The Angels also struggle against left-handed pitching, going 13-26 vs. LHP (39-53 vs. RHP) this year.
Philadelphia Phillies (-108) at Seattle Mariners
The Phillies haven’t lost a game since emerging from the corn at the Field of Dreams Game nearly two weeks ago. They swept the Twins on the road, then swept their homestand against the Marlins and Cardinals, including a dramatic ninth-inning comeback on Sunday.
Philadelphia now has Zack Wheeler on the mound as they head out to Seattle, with Logan Gilbert taking the ball for the home side.
The Mariners have been up-and-down recently, and while they may be able to sneak out a win here, the Phillies should be bigger favorites in this spot.
