Belmont won the Ohio Valley Conference tournament on Saturday after a long-three pointer by Taylor Barnette with six seconds remaining gave the Bruins an 88-87 win over No. 25 Murray State.

The win sends Belmont to the NCAA tournament as the OVC champion. Murray State had won 25 straight games and entered the Associated Press Top 25 this week.

After two Murray State free throws from Cameron Payne gave the Racers a one-point lead, Barnette let fly his three-pointer from beyond the top of the arc with two defenders in his face.

After a sequence of timeouts, Murray State (27-5) was unable to get a shot off.

Barnette finished with nine points on 3 of 8 shooting, all from three-point range. Craig Bradshaw led Belmont (22-10) with 25 points, while Evan Bradds had 21 and 11 rebounds. Murray State's T.J. Sapp led all players with 28 points.
