TCU's Fields to meet with school, 'discuss his status' as student

Texas Christian University defensive end Devonte Fields will meet with school administrators Tuesday in the wake of an arrest stemming from a domestic dispute in order to discuss his status as a student, the Dallas Morning News reported Monday.
The school and Fields "separated" on July 22 after it was revealed Fields was present at the scene of an incident involving his ex-girlfriend two days earlier. On July 25, Fields surrendered to Tarrant Country authorities and was booked on a misdemeanor assault warrant. The defensive standout is alleged to have punched his ex-girlfriend in the head and threatened to shoot her.

While the school has not yet commented on if or when Fields will receive a specific punishment, Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson called the situation with his star defender disappointing.
Fields was the 2012 Big 12 defensive player of the year as a freshman. He was suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season for an unspecified violation of university and team policy.
