Georgia running back Todd Gurley was taken off the board for betting odds to win the Heisman Trophy on Friday following news that he has been suspended indefinitely

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott becomes the new betting favorite at Bovada, with 2/1 odds.

THAMEL: Behind the scenes of Mississippi St.'s upset win

On Tuesday, Bovada released Heisman odds that had Gurley as the favorite at 8/5, overtaking Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. Gurley was suspended indefinitely on Thursday for an ongoing investigation into an alleged violation of NCAA rules.

Prescott threw for 259 yards and accounted for five touchdowns in Mississippi State's upset win over Texas A&M last Saturday, propelling him to the forefront of the conversation.

On the season, Prescott has thrown for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns with just two interceptions.

• ELLIS: Improved QB Marshall key for Auburn at Miss. State

Gurley has 973 all-purpose yards on the season, which currently ranks No. 2 in the FBS.

Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall is now second on the betting odds list with 5/2 odds, while Mariota is fourth at 4/1 odds.

Bovada also downgraded Georgia's national championship odds from 8/1 to 12/1.
